Last month, Google promised to automatically show images securely within its Gmail products and today, Gmail for Android is the first app to get the feature. Previously, Google blocked loading of images by default as images could be abused by hackers. Google is making sure images are secure by passing all images through a secure proxy server, which scans images for viruses or malware before sending it off to users.
For those concerned with privacy, the feature can be disabled in the settings.
Version 4.7.2 of Gmail for Android is rolling out now so check Google Play for an update or download the latest version here on Softonic.
